MISSOURI CHAMBER OF COMMERCE
The Missouri Mathematics and Science Coalition’s annual STEM Day at the Capitol focuses on K-12, higher education and STEM programming. Students, businesses and organizations have the chance to share their passion for STEM with Missouri legislators. Educators and administrators can demonstrate the impact STEM has on student achievement and why Missouri needs to invest more in curriculum, program support and professional development. STEM program directors and business professionals will have the opportunity to promote the advantages STEM programming can have on economic development across the state.
Limited space is available on the 3rd floor Rotunda of the Capitol where participating groups can showcase their STEM programs and projects. Exhibits range from chemical reactions by Pfizer chemists, CoBot robotics by HTE Automation, Brewer Science electrical experiments, a Boeing F-18 Flight simulator, the FIRST Robotics Capitol Cup competition, and many more.
K-12 schools, STEM professionals and others with a general interest in learning about the various programs and activities are free to do so. All exhibits will be interactive with many hands-on demonstrations for attendees to take part in. Schools wishing to bring student groups or even whole classes are welcome. Many times school leaders and educators will attend to learn how they can bring back some of the various programs and ideas to their districts.
